Detroit Police have released a photo of two people believed to be responsible for graffiti that was discovered in December on the side of a youth recreation center, depicting an angel holding a gun against a police officer. Detroit Police spokesman Adam Madera said the two suspects, a man and a woman, were recorded by security cameras in the vicinity of the YouthVille Detroit building located in the 7300 block of Woodward Ave. near Lothrop Street. Police believe the graffiti was painted on Dec. 30. YouthVille is a youth development center that offers Detroit children and teens a safe place to participate in programs and receive support. The graffiti shows a uniformed officer with his hands up. The young male, with a halo over his head and white angel wings, is pointing a gun at the officer. Police call graffiti of angel pointing gun at officer 'disturbing' It was painted underneath a sign on the building that says "safe place." Police and community members previously called the graffiti disturbing and disheartening. Madera said Youthville removed the graffiti the same day it was discovered.
